WHAT IS THE PROGBRAIN
IDEA
Creation of a Field-Programmable Neural Array (FPNA) for prototyping, training and parallel operation of synchronous and asynchronous Neural Networks (NS), which are the basis of Artificial Intelligence (AI), as well as a whole range of consumer and specialized products based on it.
In fact, these are brains for Artificial Intelligence, which can be programmed directly on the chip. This chip can be placed on any device that has sensors and external control systems.
TECHNOLOGY
The microchip on which the matrix of autonomous neurons is placed. All neurons can be connected to each other via a programmable data bus. The configuration of the Neural Network, the functions of activation of neurons, the weight of signals, as well as other parameters of its operation are set in a software manner. The technology allows you to build any type and any configuration of the Neural Network on a microchip. The technology also allows you to place several Neural Networks on the same chip and establish interaction between them, or linearly scale the Neural Network by connecting several microchips on the board.
COMPETITION
Companies such as Google, IBM, and Tesla are developing Tensor Accelerators for computing Neural Networks. These chips can perform only one task - to multiply the matrixes of numbers. They cannot perform parallel computations. They do not allow scaling the Neural Network to any size. They are not suitable for processing asynchronous Neural Networks. They do not allow prototyping the Neural Network directly onto the chip. They do not allow the interaction between different neural networks in real time. Thus, their technology is at an impasse because it is very limited. My technology is devoid of all these shortcomings.
APPLICATION
The use of such chips is very large. They can be installed on drones or cars, making portable autopilots. Cards with such chips can be installed in a personal computer so that computer games count on them the behavior of computer opponents (NPCs). Using these chips, it will be possible to create thinking virtual assistants for a smart home, or create a virtual teacher for self-education. Imagine a computer game that you play for only half an hour a day, but for half a year you automatically learn a new language or a new profession ... In the end, such chips will be the first brains in the world for human-like robots.
